Alice studied Māori Design and Art at Te Wānanga O Raukawa (The University of Ōtaki) in 2001 under Pip Devonshire and Elaine Beven, then spent many years with Artists and Weavers learning as much as she could until 2017 when Alice went back to study kete whakairo (finely woven patterned baskets) at Te Wānanga O Aotearoa with Morehu Flutey-Henare. Morehu Flutey-Henare, Reihana Parata (Aunty Doe) Rānui Ngārimu, Pip Devonhire and Elaine Bevon along with many talented friends/artists have all supported and inspired Alice in her continued passion for toi Māori.

With this knowledge, she has worked as a full time artist for over 20 years and has sold her work around the world. We are honoured to stock designs from this incredibly talented creative.

This item is a one off item, handmade in Aotearoa by a Māori creative
